With Kolkata being a riverine port, with a constraint of sufficient draft levels, B. Ghose has been farsighted in its vision and today boasts of a fleet of more than a dozen barges and tugs, with its flagship barge, 'Century Star' having a capacity of 8,000 MT and is of ocean going class. B. Ghose's total barging capacity stands at over 15,000 MT.

The company is engaged in barging and lightering operations on the Hooghly River and regularly engages her fleet of barges for handling of bulk and project cargos.
